Factors triggering suicides: Following factors are involved

  1. Depression and anxiety: Depression and anxiety are the basis of suicidal attempts. It will be in your mind that these both terms are synonyms to each other. But no, they are different and used for different situations. A person remembering the terrible past he/she has gone through is depression whereas when a person is worried about his/her future, it is anxiety. One thing is common in them, they both worsen the present.
A patient suffering from depression and anxiety loses interest in daily life activities and somehow doesn’t want to get out of that condition. Because they think there will be no good change in their life and slowly neglects the talents they have. Life becomes meaningless for them thus they attempt suicide.
  2. Isolation: Staying away from the actual world and living in the fantasy created by your mind including your imaginary friends, parents etc whom you start to love and care about, is a path persuading you to harm yourself.
These patients/persons feels better to remain in this world as the real world damaged their emotions, self-integrity and confidence, which ceases their steps to enter the real world.
  3. Previous suicidal attempts: Once suicide is attempted and fortunately a person survives, this doesn’t mean he will not go for it again. He will surely try to find a chance to kill himself. This is an extreme mania case and requires complete attention.
  4. Failures: Continuous failures and mistakes, creates a thought in your mind that you are good for nothing. You cannot do or achieve anything. Therefore, you don’t engage in ways that needs your talents and knowledge. This is also the cause of addiction to various drugs as these substances are the way out of your depression. Failures along with addiction ruins your health and life, building a road to death even through suicide.
  5. Copycat suicides: In this, a person inspired by a renowned personality, lives the way he lives and acts the way he acts, even if he kills himself. A normal individual will never try to harm themselves after hearing these kinds of news but only those who are already depressed. This do not solely include famous persons but also family members or relatives who committed suicides. Incidents like these, puts a belief in psyche patients that solution of every problem or sorrow is death and so they do it.
How a depressed person can save himself/herself from suicides:
If you are exhausted from your life and want to end it, just read the following points.
    1) First of all, death is not the solution for your problems. It’s not an act of bravery but an act of cowardice.
    2) Understand that life is a precious gift the Almighty has given to you. Look at those who died in infancy and childhood. Their lives ended before it had even started.
    3) Let’s jump onto your issues. Keep one thing in your mind that your intensity of your issues depends upon your tolerance level. All your problems are not extreme the way you think they are.
    4) If you have a dreadful past which is an obstacle for you to moving on, don’t let it reign on your mind. Once something is gone, it will never come back whether your failures, problems and mistakes. None of these have power on your life and your future. Your present, thoughts about yourself, confidence and self-priority builds your future. Take care of your health, beliefs, thoughts and emotions.
    5) Never associate your happiness with anyone either your actual friends or your imaginary friends. They both can’t do anything for your benefit. If you are hallucinating, don’t stay alone, start spending time with your family members and enjoy with them. Take part in daily activities, focus on your hobbies or create new hobbies, play you favourite outdoor or indoor games, interact with people and if someone is stealing your happiness, disconnect yourself from that person.
    6) If your condition is getting worse, contact a psychiatrist, he/she will make a way out of your depression.
    7) Share your heart and feelings with a person you trust the most, either God, parents or friends. Don’t trust in imaginary friends.
    8) If depression and depressing thoughts have been initiated in your brain, stop them right now. Try not to make a space for them.
    9) Avoid indulging in bad company and addiction to drugs. They are detrimental to your well-being.
    10) Exercise or take a walk when you have these feelings. Go to a place having trees, flowers and cleanliness. The beauty in nature, gives you a serotonin boost.
    11) Help others and make them happy. This is a great achievement one gets.
How to deal and stop a person from committing suicides:
If you are a relative or family member of a depressed patient who are likely to kill themselves, read the following:
    1) Don’t leave them alone, stay with them, talk to them, listen to them, build a trustworthy relationship between you and them to help them spit out what’s tormenting their heart. Find and make a way for it.
    2) If they are acting aggressively, calm them down. But if they are getting out of your hands, be vigilant and take them to a psychiatrist. They will treat them properly.
    3) Try to make their life better so that they can expect good from their lives. Being harsh with them, worsens them.
    4) If they have attempted suicide previously, give complete attention to them with proper care and treatment with antidepressants, antipsychotics etc as they can attempt again.
    5) At start it would be difficult for you to deal with them, but notice them and make a technique in which they can be easily dealt with.
The journey from suicide to a new hope is strenuous, requiring concentration and time. Being healthy again is accomplishable, just remember this, ‘Hopelessness can be reversed, there is a way, you only need to open your eyes and see it.’
